I think I have just finished my painting of Ely Dispensary. I have really enjoyed doing it but have been battling to resolve some minor irritations this past week. I always find it really difficult to let go towards the end and I don’t want to suffocate the painting by overworking it. I like to keep as many of the 'happy accidents' as possible. A large part of what makes a painting more exciting than a photograph in my opinion, are the different qualities of the paint on the canvas surface.
